Why Mould Loves Hobart
Cold nights and cosy heaters make warm air meet cold walls.
That mix makes condensation party like it is Friday arvo.
Moisture hangs around like a mate who will not leave the barbie.
Mould sees that and sets up shop faster than a coffee cart at the markets.

CASE STUDY: Effective Bathroom Mould Remediation
On 30 March 2026, our technician attended the property to complete the approved mould remediation works within the bathroom area.
The scope included strip-out, disposal, and treatment of mould-affected materials.
All works were carried out in accordance with industry standards and safety protocols.
During the process, affected plaster wall linings and contaminated plasterboard within the wall cavity were removed and safely disposed of.
Exposed framing timbers were cleaned, HEPA vacuumed, and treated using Percide with booster, followed by Biosan application to neutralise surfaces.
A final HEPA vacuum was conducted to remove residual particulate matter before containment removal, and works were paused for safe continuation pending further trade intervention.
During remediation, residual moisture and additional mould contamination were identified within timber framing and tiled sections, extending beyond the original scope.
Further investigation, including camera inspection, confirmed mould presence in concealed areas and water damage behind the vanity.
As a result, additional works are required, including engaging a licensed plumber to isolate the water supply, removing the vanity unit, and conducting further remediation on affected timber framing, tiled walls, and potentially the opposite side of the wall.

FAQs About Hobart Mould Removal
Is it safe to clean mould myself
Small patches are fine for a quick clean with the right product and a mask and gloves.
If the patch is bigger than a pizza, call the pros.
Large areas need proper containment and HEPA gear.
Why does mould keep coming back
The source is still there like a tap left on a trickle.
Restore moisture and improve airflow, or the mould will return for an encore.
Do I need to move out during mould remediation
Not always.
For small jobs, you can usually stay in other rooms.
For larger jobs, we may set up zones so the work is sealed off.
How long does mould removal take
Most jobs take a few hours to a day.
Bigger or complex areas may need extra visits.
We will lay it out before we start so you can plan dinner, not drama.
What gear do you use
We use HEPA vacuums and filtration, moisture meters, and thermal checks.
We choose cleaning methods to suit each surface.
No one-size-fits-all nonsense.
Will the stains disappear
Many stains lift right off.
Some old stains can linger like a faint tan line.
If a surface is damaged, we will explain options that make sense.
Can I paint over mould
Painting over mould is like spraying deodorant on gym socks.
The smell and the spots come back.
Restore the source, then paint.
What about black mould
Black mould is a colour, not a magic monster.
Restore the moisture and clean it right, and it stops spreading.
We handle it with the same calm plan and the right protection.
Does insurance cover mould
Policies vary more than footy scores.
Some cover sudden leaks.
Long-term moisture is often not covered.
Keep photos and notes, and ask your insurer early.
